GLADES

Start from the project

Each guide says which material to use, how deep to lay it and what to watch for.

Gravel and limerock driveways

Limerock base, Crushed concrete, #57 limestone, Shell rock

A compacted base of limerock or crushed concrete, finished with clean stone if you want a loose gravel look.

Patios, paver walks and paths

Limerock base, Limestone screenings, Paver sand, Pea gravel

Pavers need a compacted base and an inch of bedding sand. Loose paths are simpler: edging, fabric and pea gravel.

French drains and dry creek beds

#57 limestone, #4 limestone, River rock, Rip rap

Clean, washed stone moves water away from foundations; river rock on top makes it look intentional.

Garden beds and landscaping

Planting mix, Topsoil, Brown mulch, White marble chips

Planting mix for the bed, mulch or decorative stone on top. Sandy native soil needs the help.

Filling and grading a lot

Fill dirt, Fill sand, Topsoil

Fill dirt to raise and shape the ground, topsoil last so the lawn can grow.
