Estimates assume typical densities. Actual weight varies with moisture and source.
Clean, angular stone around 3/4 inch. Drains fast — for driveway tops, French drains and under slabs.
#57 is the size code for washed stone that runs roughly 1/2 to 1 inch with no fines. Because the pieces are angular they interlock instead of rolling, but water still passes straight through. That makes it a favorite for the top layer of gravel driveways, drainage trenches and the stone bed under concrete.
